Survey suggests people in Britain under the age 25 prefer online advice. London (WiredPRNews.com) – A recent survey suggests many young individuals in Britain seek online help for personal issues as opposed to advice from parents. As reported by Reuters, the survey showed that ninety percent of survey respondents who were under the age of 25 reported to the Get Connected free national helpline that they had gone online for dealing with a personal issue. As noted in the report, one third expressed they would seek advice from their mother, and half of respondents stated they would seek it from a friend. Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – The use of popular social networking sites by law enforcement officials to track criminals is increasing. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), more agents are using sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter to obtain information deemed useful for cases. As noted in the report, the news has prompted some sites to implement requirements or guidelines for law enforcement agents in using these mediums to obtain legal information. MySpace chief security officer, Hemanshu Nigam, is quoted by the AP as stating that the site does not seek to hinder investigations; however, “That said, we also want to make sure that our users’ privacy is protected and any data that’s disclosed is done under proper legal process.” Facebook spokesman Andrew Noyes is further quoted as stating the site has designed a handbook for assisting law enforcement with understanding, “the proper ways to request information from Facebook to aid investigations.” Conan O’Brien tour headed to SMU

Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Former late night talk show host and comedian Conan O’Brien is planning a 30 city theater tour after his departure from “The Tonight Show.” As reported by the Associated Press (AP), O’Brien is set to include Southern Methodist University in Dallas on the list of stops during his “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour,” which is set to begin April 12 in Oregon. The SMU stop at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium is scheduled for May 13. O’Brien is quoted by the AP as joking about deciding to do the tour following the controversy surrounding his talk show replacement, “It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house.” As noted in the report, Andy Richter and the former band of the “Tonight Show” are set to accompany O’Brien on the tour. The ‘Mission: Impossible’ star died Sunday after reportedly suffering a heart attack. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Graves passed away Sunday after reportedly suffering a heart attack outside of his home in Los Angeles upon returning from brunch with his family. Graves, who would have turned 84 on Thursday, appeared in several films and television shows throughout his career, which spanned nearly six decades. Publicist Sandy Brokaw is quoted in the report as stating of the actor, “He had this statesmanlike quality… People were always encouraging him to run for office. But he said, ‘I like acting. I like being around actors.” Graves married his wife, Joan Endress in 1950. The couple have three children and six grandchildren. Actress Kate Winslet and husband split
The British actress and her director husband have reportedly separated. London (WiredPRNews.com) – British actress Kate Winslet and her director husband Sam Mendes have reportedly separated. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the law firm of the couple, who have been married since 2003, announced the separation Monday. The Schillings firm is quoted as releasing the statement that the separation of the pair was, “entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement.” As noted in the report, Winslet, whose stardom rose after her role in the movie “Titanic,” received an Oscar last year for the film “The Reader.” Mendes has also received an academy award for directing “American Beauty” in 1999. Winslet and Mendes have a six-year-old son together. Winslet also has a nine-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. The driver involved in an alleged assault has stated he regrets police involvement. New York (WiredPRNews.com) – The driver of supermodel Naomi Campbell, who accused her of assaulting him is now stating he overreacted to the incident. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Miodrag Mejdina stated Thursday that he regretted getting the police involved in Tuesday’s incident for which he accused Campbell of hitting him, which purportedly led to him being injured after hitting his head on the car steering wheel. Mejdina is quoted by the AP as stating of the matter, “This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen.” Campbell reportedly issued a statement regarding the driver’s apology and getting past other legal troubles, “I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past.” White House pushes president’s message via Twitter Officials are reportedly increasing their use of Twitter to spread messages of the president. It’s still just the sort of character that people like a lot. I try and avoid promoting myself like that cause otherwise you end up with a huge burden of responsibility.”
First time winners take top Oscar honors
Sandra Bullock and Mo’Nique were among the top winners at Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony.
